Temple Community Cinema was setup in June 2010, initially with a free showing on 26 June 2010. Due to the refurbishment of Temple Village Hall, the cinema showed films in Carrington and North Middleton until April 2011. Due to the response from the wider community, the cinema was renamed to Moorflix in July 2011 with the aim of continuing to show films in these villages.

The first season's film programme was well received and included a wide variety of films, including an audience vote. The filmgoers regularly stay behind at each showing to chat and socialise which makes this more than a night at the movies.

Full details of the community cinema can be found on their website: www.moorflix.org.uk

Initial funds for the cinema were raised as part of "The Undiscovered" community film and hosting some Italian vistors at a "Taste of Scotland" evening in the village hall. This has allowed them to cover some startup costs and the free showing.

The Temple Discussion Forum also has a section for discussions about the cinema where you can comment on films shown and suggest improvements or future films.
