Temple Community Cinema is in the process of being setup with a free showing happening on 26 June - The Wizard of Oz. This film was chosen with the aim of appealing to the widest audience and is being shown free to allow everyone to experience the cinema before committing to a membership.

To encourage memberships, a 5 film mini-season is planned for September to December which would cost £20, or non-members can pay £5 per film. In addition, and not part of the membership, there would be a children's matinee if enough interest was expressed.

Full membership details and costs, and the films planned for the mini-season will be announced at the free showing.

Still to do:

  • Obtain finance/grants for showing equipment
  • Purchase showing equipment
  • Establish a membership process
  • Agree films to be shown (probably a voting procedure)
  • Create a dedicated website

Initial funds were raised as part of "The Undiscovered" community film and hosting some Italian vistors at a "Taste of Scotland" evening in the village hall. This has allowed us to cover some startup costs and the free showing.

To keep up to date on the Community Cinema, please sign up for the newsletter (separate to the Temple newsletter) or become a fan on Facebook

The Temple Discussion Forum also has a section for discussions about the cinema where you can comment on films shown and suggest improvements or future films.
